I first learned of flowers from my Irish Grandmother. She always had a garden filled with beautiful blooms and as a child I would wonder amongst them and awe in their magic. My mother too, had gorgeous flower beds and so it seemed only natural for me to follow the colorful paths they left behind for me to walk on.
The fast pace of society today leaves most with no time to slow down and ponder the simple handsomeness of a flower, especially those species that were grown so long ago by our predecessors. Species that need to be kept and cared for before they are lost forever.
The scent of lavender and lilac. The cheerful face of a sunflower. The stunning deep pink of a rose. The fuzzy beard of an iris. The blues and hues, the greens and golds. The smell of the rain drenched soil after a morning shower.
Life is simple in a garden, come and see. Come and be...
